- 2 bay leaf
- 3 Cardamom
- 3 cup Water
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- Syrup
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Water
Instructions to make to make Halwa Stuffed Gujia
- Make a sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water. A medium thick consistency sugar syrup is required.
- Mix maida + salt + Suji + ghee + water and knead a semi soft dough, keep rest for 10 minutes.
- Now prepare the filling, in pan add ghee add bay leaf + cardamom and allow to crackle, then add Suji and roast for 2-3 minutes, then add hot water and stir to prevent formation of lump. Keep stirring, water evaporates and mixture thickens, add sugar and let sugar dissolve. Cook Suji for 1-2 minutes, filling is ready and keep aside. Discard bay leaf and cardamom pods.
- Now knead the dough for 1-2 minutes and start taking our medium size dough and roll out in circular shape. Place the filling and seal it very nicely or take the help of Gujia mould.
- Now deep fry Gujia till golden yellow / brown and immediately transfer to sugar syrup.
- Just coat with sugar syrup all over and transfer to serving dish. Gujia is ready.
- Decorate with dry fruits or keep it plain.
